Dr. Benjamin Gocial has devoted his career to helping his patients discover a brighter future. An innovative and compassionate professional, Dr. Gocial has built the foundation of his success on patient trust and relationships. His passion is to help his patients fulfill their dreams of becoming parents. Dr. Gocial began his journey with Main Line Fertility in May 2016.
Dr. Gocial served as a board member and committee chair of the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SART) and is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL). He is also the co-founder and past-president of the Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society.
Born in Boras, Sweden, Dr. Gocial was raised in Philadelphia and earned his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. His training in OB/GYN sparked his interest in fertility and inspired him to pursue his expertise in in vitro fertilization (IVF). Dr. Gocial’s passion for infertility drove him to establish the IVF program at Jefferson University Hospital when the field of IVF was in its infancy.
At Jefferson University, Dr. Gocial’s work with the repeated pregnancy loss center formed the foundation of his research in implantation failures and pregnancy loss observed in IVF and infertility patients. Dr. Gocial’s other areas of interest and specialties include ovulation induction, IUI, IVF including fertility preservation for oncologic or age related purposes, donor egg or embryo and genetic testing and management for genetic screening or single gene defects.
Dr. Gocial is a strong believer in minimally invasive surgeries and the great potential it offers patients. He aims to help his patients receive unmatched quality in surgical repairs when needed with minimal risk, impact and interference to their quality of life. Dr. Gocial is skilled with minimally invasive surgical procedures including advanced methods of operative hysteroscopy and/or laparoscopy with da Vinci robot support where needed for the management of fibroids, Mullerian anomalies, endometriosis and tubal disease including laparoscopic tubal anastomosis. Through his clinical experience, skills, research and passion for patient support, Dr. Gocial offers a unique combination of skills for his patients to ensure that they receive the best treatment. His goal is to help all his patients realize and experience the wonders of becoming parents.
