Tyl is an embryologist and andrologist at Main Line Fertility and Reproductive Medicine. He received his B.S. degree in Biology from Randolph-Macon College in Virginia, and he went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in clinical embryology from Eastern Virginia Medical School. Tyl’s master’s thesis focused on the meiotic spindle as a predictor of aneuploidy in the human oocyte. For his work, he was awarded the “Gary Dean Hodgen, PhD Award for Excellence in Clinical Embryology Research”.
Tyl has continued further research in the field of embryology, presenting his work at local, national, and international conferences and in abstracts and manuscripts. He has been awarded several grants for research at the Main Line Fertility Center. Tyl is also an ad-hoc reviewer for the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics.
Tyl has been credited with being the first embryologist in the state to successfully vitrify and warm oocytes that resulted in pregnancies. In addition, he was the first embryologist in the area to successfully perform blastocyst biopsies for array CGH. Tyl coordinates the egg cryopreservation and PGD services for patients at the center. Tyl and his wife, Dr. Stacie Lin, reside in Phoenixville, PA. Tyl enjoys fly-fishing and golfing.
