Sharon H. Anderson, PhD, ELD, HCLD

Dr. Anderson is the Scientific and Laboratory Director at Main Line Fertility and Reproductive Medicine.  She directs the embryology, andrology, and endocrinology laboratories.  She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Animal Bioscience from Pennsylvania State University. Her research focused on the interaction between gametes/embryos and the oviduct.  Subsequently, she received her Ph.D. in Physiology from Penn State University.  While completing a post-doctoral scholarship in microbiology, she also taught Human Physiology at Juniata College.

Dr. Anderson has been directing assisted reproductive technology laboratories since 1993.  She is board-certified in embryology and andrology as a High Complexity Lab Director (H.C.L.D.) by the American Association of Bioanalysts.  She specializes in IVF, cryopreservation/vitrification and micromanipulation – especially intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).

Dr. Anderson also oversees the scientific research program at MLFC. She has published numerous scientific abstracts and publications, and she has presented data at national and international medical conferences.   As Scientific and Laboratory Director, Dr. Anderson writes research proposals and submits them to pharmaceutical companies.  Her goal is to obtain research grants for patient IVF studies.  In addition, she is actively involved in marketing and promoting the practice.

She is a member of the American Association of Bioanalysts, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), and Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrinology (PARES) group.
